Advisers:
Please see information below from the national office. Also remember
that membership dues must be paid and in the national office by February
1 for your students to be eligible to compete. I noticed that several
chapters have not yet paid dues and some chapters are shown as only
having made partial payment. Any students that are not marked as paid
will not be eligible to compete!
Remember - any registration/changes made for SLC done after February 9
will have a late fee added in. Please get your online registration
completed on time to avoid late fees. Also, note the reimbursement
schedule for any registrations that are deleted.
MATERIALS DUE - be sure any materials that must be submitted for
prejudging are received by February 9. This deadline is strictly adhered
to!
EVENT Clarification--A CD or a DVD may now be used when saving
presentations and programs for Multimedia presentation, Digital Video
Production, and all the programming events.
FBLA National Officer Candidate Guide - For those students interested in
applying for a national office, please submit your application during
registration at the state conference.

All newly elected national officers will attend an officer breakfast
orientation from 7:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. on the morning following the Awards
of Excellence. Questions concerning running for nat ional office should

FBLA-PBL sets aside the second week of February each year as National
FBLA-PBL Week. Chapters are encouraged to use this time to publicize
their activities and successes, boost their membership, and gear up for

NLC Update

We are looking for great workshop presenters and exhibitors for the NLC.
If you know someone that might be interested, please have him/her go to

"Conference Registration" to download the forms.
National Anthem Singers
----------------------------
FBLA-PBL is looking for a PBL member and an FBLA member to sing the
national anthem at his/her respective NLC. If you know someone who would
like to perform the national anthem, make a demo CD or MP3 and send to

The deadline for receiving auditions is Friday, May 11. Please include
your name, school, e-mail address and phone number. Team Cybis will
review all CDs and MP3s, and the person chosen will receive notification
from Cybis Communications. Audition CDs will not be returned.
NLC Judges Needed

Do you have any contacts in the Chicago area? We are looking for
business and industry persons to serve as judges for PBL on June 24 &
25, and for FBLA on June 29 & 30. A form is on our Web site at

Registration or e-mail education at fbla.org with the person's contact
information. Remember, spouses, school principals, directors,
counselors, parents, etc. are eligible to judge.
Apply Today! National Awards Committee (NAP) Applications due March 1,
2007

This year the NAP committee has two (2) at-large openings for FBLA. The
term for the new NAP members starts following the 2007 NLC in Chicago
and runs through the 2010 NLC. Committee members must attend a meeting,
which is scheduled in September/October each year, and the NLC each
year. All expenses are paid for committee members attending the
meetings.
Qualifications for the NAP Committee include:
* A degree in education or a related field
* Current involvement in FBLA-PBL operations
* Active participation as a local adviser or a state committee
person
* Currently employed in education
* Minimum of three years' experience in the operation of
competitive events at the district/region, state, and/or national
levels.

State Case Studies--Please share your case studies and speaking topics
you have created for your district competitions and send to
education at fbla.org.
